Recruitment Weekend: Diversity Breakfast
Event Description
Every year during graduate student recruitment visits, our department hosts a pair of events where applicants can connect with current graduate students of color and LBGTQA+ students. One is a breakfast for applicants who self-identify as members of racial or ethnic minorities and one is a brunch for LGBTQA+ applicants.
These events are not a part of the admissions process and have no bearing on your acceptance to the university. They are available as a resource for applicants applying to the Department of Psychology, and serve as an opportunity to ask current graduate students who identify as a racial/ethnic minority member or as part of the LGBTQA+ community questions about their experiences at UVA, in Charlottesville, and in a graduate psychology program.
These events are normally held the Saturday of the department's Recruitment Weekend, and are only open to applicants invited to UVA for visiting day. Visiting candidates will receive information about when and where these events will be.
